Expanding Stool
Origami is the process of 'expanding' flat paper into a three-dimensional form.
The paper continues to stretch as it folds, and three-dimensional shapes continue to form regardless of direction and shape. This project started with the idea of 'What if the chair could be stretched as long as the user wanted like origami?'
To this end, two long bars bolted between acrylics were used, which can be switched to various lengths at any time as needed. As the bar increases, an additional square frame is applied to the extra space created, adhering to the existing design and creating a bench-shaped stool with an extended length at any time.
